The Barleycorn Pub is apparently under new management.... According to my mole the owners of Fab Cafe in Leeds are currently making it more beautiful than before.......... Anybody who has any further verification of said rumour please comment

Sad Demise.
So it is true, Todd's Pork and Beef Butchers, an Armley institution are no more. (Except in Kirkgate Market) Adair Paxton estate agents have a To Let Sign stating Restuarant and Retail Opportunity. Who would you like to open a restuarant in that space? Is Armley ready for it? Jam Siren suggests that we agitate for a lovely curry house like Akbars or a tasty Italian. Feel free to post what you want to see there.... who knows where it might lead.....

Gotts Park Golf Club Membership and cheap drinks
On a walk around Gott's park today, Jam Siren happened to enjoy a cheap cup of coffee for 45p whilst overlooking the stupendous views of rolling green countryside etc. What a lovely venue she mused...... Well apparently as a 'social member' for a tenner a year you can enjoy the reasonably priced drinks in the club house upstairs..... Does anyone else ever frequent this little jewel? Or is Jam Siren getting a little middle-aged? Is this how it happens? Little by little until you become a fully paid up member of the local MUNICIPAL golf club, sipping sherry and wearing plus fours?

Jam Siren would like to invite other members of the Armley community to participate in rubbing the magic lamp that is Armley, soon a genie will pop out. So if you care enough about what is going on here and want to share then how about we get a night at a pub going........
